Terry
Carmichael, M.S.
Director of Marketing
In
1997, Terry founded the GeneTree DNA Testing Center
(Now, DNATesting.com), the first company to provide
full-service, direct-to-consumer genetic testing. In
2001, the company's assets were acquired by the multi-billion
dollar Sorenson Development Corporation. While with
GeneTree, Terry positioned the first human DNA testing
product on the shelf of two major retail chains, Rite
Aid and Meijer. The product can now be found in other
retailers, too, such as Walgreens, CVS and more.
Terry
received his Masters in Molecular Medicine and Genetics
from Wayne State University School of Medicine. His
thesis suggested how rearrangements in the DNA promoter
region of a virus was required to activate the onset
of a disease.
After
completing his Degree in 1995, Terry worked for QIAGEN,
a provider of DNA purification solutions to the biotechnology
industry, and received a Professional Designation in
Marketing and Sales through a program offered at the
University of California, Los Angeles. Terry moved on
to work as a Product Manager for Bio-Rad Laboratories,
assisting with the development and product launch of
Bio-Rad’s high-throughput DNA purification solutions.
Currently,
Terry is offering his sales and marketing expertise
to his position as Vice President of Marketing for BioPharma
